Stayed one night due to attending a wedding nearby at Dromoland. We found the check in instantaneously helpful and polite and in three minutes gave us all the info we needed. It was a bit of a schlep to the room, either a long wait 4 lift or up two flights and along two corridors we managed fine.breakfast staff we super cordial as we came late (20 min) and assumed no entry but they let us in and this was a godsend, despite being very inconvenient for them. Thanks to all.
Hotels need to check tiling grouting is clean, need a small fine brush to clean the grout, otherwise the bathroom and bedroom were spotless, a tiny bit tired eg old large tv but everything in prefect working order.

Charming Stop Over with Great Atmosphere
A good stay with a charming ambiance and live traditional music at the bar. The receptionist was warm and responsive to our needs. Enjoyed a lovely meal at the bistro, though breakfast service needs improvement. Recommend requesting a quieter room away from the festivities for better peace.

Perfect location!!! Owner provided great info on restaurants in Dublin as well as Clifton. Loved the place, if only for a one night stay. Great breakfast. Only complaint, a couple bugs on ceiling, but hey, they got to live too!!! Would not hesitate to stay here again!!!!!!

Front desk staff very helpful and efficient. Restaurant food was excellent and atmosphere, decor warm. While in a larger room, it was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Shops were close, and any things you may need or forgot (from toiletries to clothes) can easily be purchased at a Dunnes right around the corner.
Maid service not until mid afternoon

It was just an appropriate option for taking strolls in Ennis with fantastic value. The bathroom amenities were nice, and I appreciated having charging sockets by the bed. Make sure to ask about room specifics to avoid any surprises.

The Hotel was superb but what was particularly memorable was the friendliness of the people of the area, we found everone we met to be very courteous and helpfull, especially in the shops and the staff in the hotel also. We like to also mention a brilliant restaurant/pub where we had ameal on our second night that is our evening meal it was Called the Cloister in Abbey St and the value for money was excellent the food, Gourmet class, with genuine friendly staff who made us feel we were coming home again the welcome was so heart warming. All in all a most enjoyable week-end full of entertainment with all the places we went to from Bunratty Castle and park to the Allwee Caves and the Cliffs of Moher and also the charming little villages we visited on our travells and finished it all off with a drive along the Lough Derg lake on our way back to Cork. I must also mentionJ>P Clarkes Restaurant at Bunratty Casle as it was enlightening to get such fine food and such a pleasant welcome here also.

We were upgraded and were very pleased with the service. We ate at Poet's Corner and the breakfast. Both meals were excellent. The service is beyond anything we expereinced on our vacation.

We stayed at the Old Ground Hotel last year as our last stop before flying home to Canada from Shannon and wanted to stay again. When we were given our room we were very disappointed with it . The room was very worn and stained carpets. When we told them our concerns at the desk they were more than accommodating and immediately moved us to another room which we were more than happy with,...they said they wanted to make sure our stay was memorable and it was. The staff is outstanding and the hotel is filled with character. The pub the Poets Corner serves great food at reasonable prices. It was our best stay in Ireland and would stay again when we return....would highly recommend

Dinner in the pub was really. We had a lovely view of cathedral from our room.
View of air handling units on roof. Three drunk ladies in lobby at 7am.

Had a cozy stay! The comfy beds were a real highlight after long days of exploring. The only drawback was the bathroom being a tad snug. A great spot 🌟

The Staff at the Old Ground were the best I have ever come across. I have never met staff that went so much out of there way to help
